    Lucid!

Hii guys what is that special thing about lucid. Of course it uses KDE 4.4.2, which I have already upgraded to. The ubuntu music store(yes that is great) and the memenu. Could all these not just be passed on as normal upgrades or just put up there in the software centre , so that anyone who needed it could install these from there.

(having said all that I am eagerly waiting for 29th to go ahead with a fresh clean install of 10.04, but please let me know)

    Re: Lucid!

The Ubuntu is using the non rolling releasing /1/ . The Ubuntu is a time based release /2/. Every six month there will new version of the Ubuntu /3/.

Or as told by the > Ubuntu Backports:
...Ubuntu releases a new version of its OS every 6 months. After a release, the version of all packages stays constant for the entire 6 months...any new features or non-security bugfixes will not be made available.
If you are willing to use the backports or PPA repositories then you could update your existing installation.
