    corrupt file on EXT HD

so Im trying to delete a corrupted .avi file on my external and it gives me an error of Could not read /media/etc....avi
I tried pluggin into my windows XP box and it shows nothing in the folder but on the Linux box it show all the files. either way the .avi will not delete. im having issues finding the drive in BASH to go that route. is there any way to switch to root in the GUI? to possibly be rid of this file?

BTW i was transferring this .avi when my comp died so it didn't transfer the whole file and now its curropted and un deleteable. Thanks in advance

alright tried the shift delete and the root delete its telling me "could not read /media/eXt HDD/my videos/movies/extract.avi." For some reason when my comp dies during the xfer from my int hd to ext it screw it up.

Holding shift + Del says "Could not delete /media/etc...."

sounds like filesystem coruption .......you say EXT dose that mean the drive is ext3?

            or what?

then it's ntfs or FAT32 formated right?

if so from in windows run chkdsk on it .....if the computer died wile transfering then thars probabley some coruption with the data.
