How to insert a special character in 9.10

    Hello,

Please help me i'm feeling dumb, i can't figure out how to insert special characters. I have a US keyboard but often need to insert characters that aren't on the keyboard like £ €. At the moment i have to search the web for them and then cut and paste them off a website. There must be something like the windows character map application that existed in prior KDE releases.

I've tried the 'character selector' panel widget, but it is useless, it only shows the characters that are already on my keyboard. I've also tried kvkbd, same issue.

    Thanks in advance...
