I installed 7Zip and it's not showing up anywhere in my applications tab? Any suggestions?

Since it is a windows app it wouldn't I don't even know how you installed it. I would just use ARK.

        Re: 7Zip

        Code:
        ken@vHeron:~$ apt-cache search 7zip
p7zip - 7zr file archiver with high compression ratio
p7zip-full - 7z and 7za file archivers with high compression ratio
xarchive - GTK frontend for most used compression tools
        p7zip-rar - non-free rar module for p7zip
        ken@vHeron:~$
I don't think there is a Linux version of the 7-Zip File Manager, if that's what you were expecting. When you download p7zip or p7zip-full you are getting the command line utility.

Ark should be able to handle 7z files when 'p7zip' or 'p7zip-full' is installed (Ark uses the command line tools as backends)

I'd suggest to use this mini how-to based on my experiences
