Install on old emachine - 128mb ram is not enough

Hey guys,
I'm getting back "into" Linux after several years of hiatus from it. I have an old emachine that I'm not using and it has 128mb ram. I downloaded kubuntu 8.04 and the error popped up "not enough memory...".

What is the latest version I could use that will let me use 128mb? I have an old RH 8 distro in my closet, but that's about 7 years old!

Xubuntu might do it, but you may need to use the text based installer instead of the live CD.

I would, however, suggest adding a bit more RAM to make it run smoothly. For a machine that old, you could probably go to any computer repair shop and ask, and they probably have some stuffed away in the "stuff-I'll-never-need-but-keep-anyway-just-in-case"-box. Usually you'll get them for free or for a symbolical sum.

System Requirements

Xubuntu is available for PC, 64-Bit PC.
CDs require 128MB RAM to run, or 192MB RAM to install. Desktop install requires at least 1.5GB of free space on your hard disk.
