    Switch keyboard layout

    Hi!

Need help. I use russian and English keyboard layouts. On my Windows PC I switched between them using Ctrl+Shift. But in Kubuntu have to click on the flag to switch. Please help me to create a shortcut

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Switch keyboard layout

Have you tried: K > System Settings > Regional&Language > Keyboard Layout => |Layout-tab| click "Enable keyboard layouts" and |Xkb Options-tab| click "Enable xkb options" + "Ctrl+Shift change layout"

    <<<Modifying>>>
And that was the Kubuntu (7.10) Gutsy Gibbon with the KDE 3.5.8.

Hmm - what version are you using ?

Older version could have keyboard layouts in the Control Center: Press ALT + F2 and type kcontrol -> CC Starts > Regional&Accessibility > Keyboard Layout...

          or in the konsole:
          Code:
          kcmshell keyboard_layout

Question #5690 in Ubuntu / GDM and terminal default keyboard layout
              https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/5690
              MULTIPLE KEYBOARDS:
You can use setxkbmap to do it. For example, to load 3 keyboards - english, german and italian (us, de, it) and to switch between them using BOTH SHIFTS, run this:

              setxkbmap -option grp:switch,grp:shift_toggle us,de,it
              +
I use russian and English keyboard layouts. On my Windows PC I switched between them using Ctrl+Shift.
              =>
              In the konsole:
              Code:
              setxkbmap -option grp:switch,grp:ctrl_shift_toggle ru,us
              Is this working ?

              more man setxkbmap
