How do I mount my mp3 player?

Hi. I have an 8gb Sansa View. I'd like to be able to access it through Kubuntu since I'm trying to move away from windows. How do I go about doing that?

this may help, but it doesn't seem like a very simple solution..

I have a Creative Nomad Zen Xtra mp3 player and I've used it with KZenExplorer with great success, and also with GNomad2 which I didn't like nearly as much.. although I don't know if these will work with other brands, I would try them anyway.. can't hurt..

      and this may be helpful:

I assume its USB. It should offer you the ability to automount.. If not:

Install the package pmount (if not done already)

Plug your player in, open a shell and run dmesg, there should be something at the end of the text that mentions something along the lines of 'Found mass storage device sdb1' or something. the sdb1, take note of it.

          enter
          Code:
          pmount /dev/sdb1
look at the messages, and hopefully open it in storage media

I agree here. With the various items I have plugged into one of my USB ports, most of them are automatically mounted. Please try that first.

I tried installing the 'pmount' and it didn't help with KK noticing my Sansa View. Any other suggestions?

Kubuntu 9.10 with KDE 4.4.2 dual booted on HP Pavilion, Vista on other partition
