    Knetwork Manager

Does anyone here know the files I need to get Knetwork manager reinstalled?

I was having some problems with it and I uninstalled it with the intention of reinstalling it and now I cannot install it because I don't have access to the internet, Silly me.

Could anyone post me a link to knetwork manager and all of its dependancies so I can get the thing running again.

Maybe one of these will help?

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...NetworkManager

    http://http.us.debian.org/debian/poo...etworkmanager/

Don't use the first, not what you need. The bottom one is what you need. Sorry about that.

      Re: Knetwork Manager

Is that the whole application including its dependancies?

Will this invoke a kernal rebuild? I try to avoid them if I can because you have to recompile the kernal everytime there is a kernal upgrade.

Anyway, I will give it a go later this evening (GMT), If worst comes to the worst I could always rebuild, I just don't fancy spending 3 hours setting it all up

      Thanks for your help MoonRise

        Re: Knetwork Manager

If you uninstalled just the knetworkmanager package, the dependencies should still be installed. (if you install the deb package with gdebi, it should inform you of any missing dependencies)

You probably should download the deb package from the ubuntu repos:
        http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/poo...etworkmanager/

You didn't specify which release version of kubuntu you are using (gutsy, feisty etc.), so make sure you pick the right version. (you can check the correct version by looking up knetworkmanager in adept)

Note: If you haven't cleaned the package cache, the knetworkmanager deb package might still be in /var/cache/apt/archives

            Re: Knetwork Manager

            No Luck I'm afraid

The deb package that you suggested kubicle was asking for the kdelibs* package, I downloaded this and it said I had a later version, seems odd.

I've installed Wicd and its dependancies and it works better than knetwork manager, only problem is that it doesn't support ASCII WEP keys.

Thank you all for your help anyway
