    Problems connecting iPod

When I connect (before boot or after) my third gen. 20GB iPod to Kubuntu 7.10 I get an error in:

    System Settings--> Advanced-->Disk & Filesystems

    The error is:

The module Disk and Filesystem could not be loaded.

    The diagnostics is:
    Possible reasons

    - An error occurred during your last KDE upgrade leaving an orphaned control module
    - You have old third party modules lying around.

Check these points carefully and try to remove the module mentioned in the error message. If it fails, consider contacting your distributor or packager.

This prevents my Maxtor USB2 disk to be auto mounted and the iPod does not mount either.

Only if I enter media:/ I can mount the devices, but the error in Disk & Filesystem remains.

This problem only occurs when I have my iPod connected.

    EDIT:
Just found a bug report on this issue:

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ce/+bug/124856

Though I can't seem to find any solution even though the last poster mentions something about a fix.

    Re: Problems connecting iPod

Do you know if your iPod is formatted for Windows or Mac as to my knowledge you can only use iPods formatted for Windows.

Its formatted for windows (FAT32). But based on the link in my first post it seems that this is a bug in Kubuntu. It works fine in Ubuntu though.

Strange, I have never had any problems with iPods on Kubuntu
