When Kubuntu (Gutsy Gibbon) boots up it goes to the command prompt. Is it possible to switch back to the VESA driver instead?

If you can get to a command prompt run:
Choose the VESA driver and use defaults for everything else you don't know how to answer.Code:sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Okay so I did all that but I didn't see the splash of nvidia. I checked in the system settings and the driver running is still VESA. I did install it successfully thoughOriginally posted by diblPossible --- YES. Easy -- no .....Originally posted by Limitedmotion

Well I tried the Envy program uninstalled the previous but that still didn't work. I keep reverting back to VESA. I may have to just use windows for now, until I find a way to install drivers for my 8800GT.
