What's the fastest filesystem our Kubuntu's can run?

This noobs curious in speed, security, stability so on and so forth.

I'm curious to learn much about this kind of stuff, as WinBlows oops sorry got boring.

I'm a newbie, but i read a lot about file systems. I think that standard GNU/Linux filesystem is ext3. JFS, XFS and others are similar to ext3 in read/ write speed and they're all journaled. If linux is used for personal things like web surfing, music playing, file sharing etc... probably ext3 is the best. That's my idea :-)

I think 95% run ext3 with no problems or performance issues. I ran reiserfs for about a year on my desktop, and recently installed xfs to try for awhile. I cannot truthfully say I notice a speedup, but it is a pretty fast system to start with (Core 2 Extreme overclocked to 3.3GHz, 4 GB RAM, WD Raptor hard drives).
