Can't detect USB drive. - Fixed

Well I've just installed Kubuntu after trying a couple of other Linux distributions and have just been installing some programs, setting up everything how I want it etc when I decided I should get some college work done - I plugged in my flash drive and nothing happened. I went to mount:/ and there is nothing there. The drive worked on openSUSE and freespire but it's not showing anything in Kubuntu.

Any suggestions? I really should have checked it on the liveCD before install but I don't think like normal people. xD

    I'm running Kubuntu 6.06.

How is the USB drive formatted?

I think it's vfat but it doesn't matter anyway. I came back to say I rebooted the machine with it plugged in and it's all working now.

      Thank you for the interest

You're welcome. Given your 'answer,' I'd guess that you have a fixed entry in your fstab for the USB HD. Easy enough to check.

          I don't think so:

          # /etc/fstab: static file system information.
          #
          # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
          proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
          /dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
          /dev/hda5 none swap sw 0 0
          /dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
