I spent couple of hours just because I can't see 4 f***ing letters - UUID?
I would expect that such a "small" problem cannot cause kernel panic!
It's very right that I put my post to section "Help the Newbie"
Next time I'll put my post to "Help the blind!"

Yesterday I typed in the kernel line
root =sdb5
Correct, right? Nope. I also got syntax error.
Took me 15 minutes to see that I forgot device:
root=/dev/sdb5.
(In fact, leaving off the leading slash before dev will get you in trouble, also).
