Root privileges in Dolphin file manager

Running FF with Dolphin file manager.

Dolphin certainly looks useful with the ability to drag and drop between two panes - but how do I get root permissions? When I want to move or copy something it's often to/from the root directory.

I know I can do it from the terminal, but it would be a lot easier in many cases to drag files from pane to pane in Dolphin

If you "right click " a folder, and click "Actions" you are given the choice to open that folder as "root". Click on that, enter your password, and there you are!

No offense intended, but why are you "often" moving/copying things in and out of the root directory? That doesn't sound like a good idea for a guy posting under "Help the New Guy" .... :P

You have a /home directory, right? That's where you need to be putting your data and folders for pictures, docs, music, whatever.

You could install Root Actions Servicemenu
        http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show...?content=48411

It is for Konqueror, but you could use some of them in the Dolphin:

kubicle tells there how to "the rootactions servicemenu can be 'tinkered with' to work better with dolphin"
