    Aria2c not working with parameter -i

    Hello,

    I have rapidshare premeum account and I found out the aria2c program to download files with the -i filename.txt parameter.

    I have kubuntu 7.04 and I installed it. I found the exact command and the result I get is invalid parameter -i. I searched and I found out that I have older version and it's not supported (I think version is 0.9.0), I was told to find new version to compile. I found one and installed it but it's also the same version.

    My questions are:

    1. How can I uninstall the old version (it cannot uninstall over Synaptic or Adept).

    2. How can I install the version that supports the -i parameter?

    Thanks

    1. How can I uninstall the old version (it cannot uninstall over Synaptic or Adept).
    How did you install it ?

    - If aria2 is from repositories (or it is .deb) then Synaptic or Adept should uninstall it.

    - If you install programs without package management then you can't find programs with package managers (apt, aptitude, adept, synaptic...).

    You could simply remove aria2c from /usr/bin (look answer to #2).

    2. How can I install the version that supports the -i parameter?
    Latest version:
    aria2 - The high speed download utility
    http://aria2.sourceforge.net/
    Download

    2007-09-10 aria2-0.11.3 released.
    The source package and cygwin/mingw binary package are available at sourceforge.net
    Follow the links >>>> aria2-0.11.3.tar.bz2 Platform-Independent Source .bz2

    Unpack > read README, it tells:

    From aria2 README
    3. How to build
    ---------------
    $ ./configure
    $ make

    The executable is aria2c in src directory.
    Copy aria2c from /aria2-0.11.3/src to the /usr/bin.

      Re: Aria2c not working with parameter -i

      Thanks mate.

      I've done it and it seems to work.

      I've read that I have to put tab between the addresses. Is that true?
      What happens if for somereason the address is invalid or my ISP crashes? I must find the address and put it again?

      Thanks again?
