After setting up kmail and fetching new messages, I noticed one that only had the line 'Only HTML enabled client'. I suppose this is related to the thunderbird option to view as html or text or either. In any case, how do I configure kmail so such messages are visible? Thanks.

Personally, any email that forces you to have html enabled in order to see what was sent I would immediately delete - period.
But, if you want KMail to open html emails, go to Settings | Configure Kmail | Security and check the Prefer HTML to plain text box.Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007
