Taskbar has dissappeared

    Taskbar has dissappeared

    Default install of 7.04 AMD64 yesterday with no problems and everything worked.

    Got all the updates and it still worked fine. Plus I got the 32bit compatibility libraries so I could run the 64bit folding@home smp client, and that went fine too.

    But this morning when I took a look to see how folding@home was going I found that the taskbar at the bottom with the application menu, virtual desktops and notification icons has disappeared and has not returned. I rebooted but still the same.

    Anyone got any pointers to where I should look to try and sort this out?

    Running with the default NV nvidia driver.

    open the konsole and type :

     killall kicker
kicker
    If that doesn't work, try also running
    Code:
     dcop kicker
    I need to do some research controling kicker with dcop, I will post more details later

      worked.

      But, forgot to mention that I had set the taskbar panel to hide automatically. So it came back but when it hid it was gone again. Repeated the above commands but this time as soon as it appeared I right clicked - Configure Panel... and disabled the hide automatically and now it is there permanently. Plus when I entered the "kicker" command in the terminal I got a lot of error and warning messages.
