    Broadband/dsl/Internet setup

Hi, Im brand new to Kubuntu 7.04, a friend installed it for me inside a virtual player to try out. I need a broadband/ DSL appliance for internet usage. I know its installed using pppoeconfig, my question is can I install it using main desktop environment KDE rather than command consule (which wont take my ISP details, password etc). ISP is Hansenet using Linsky Router and modem works fine through WINXP. Would appreciate any help.

Why won't ppoeconfig do the job? Have you used sudo in the command
    sudo pppoeconf

If your win box is already connected just share the connection. You already have it running to use VM.

        Re: Broadband/dsl/Internet setup

Ive used the sudo pppoeconfig command, when it comes to entering ISP details, I just cant enter anything, this is why I am trying to find another method to install broadband DSL.
And on sharing connection, I want Kubuntu to operate independantly of the other installation. There has to be another installation method for DSL other than this little "Dos-Box" command consule ...or....?

Need further assistance here please, anybody....

O.K., Ive managed to enter ISP details in consule, still not online however......

Adept manager shows that „pppoeconf“ is installed, however, „pppoe“ itself is not. Is it necessary to install this ? If I download “feisty/ universe pppoe_3.8-1.1_i386.deb” (I don’t have install CD) where exactly do I install it?

In consol, when I enter “pon dsl-provider” it registers “Plugin rp-pppoe.so loaded”. Does this mean broadband connection is nevertheless now installed?
