Shipped Kubuntu feisty not working!!!

Hi there,
I had tried the previous Kubuntu on my notebook PC Intel core duo 1.8 ram 1GB, and it worked, now I ordered the new feisty and didn't use it until I formated the PC with its windows XP.
I tried the feisty CD and didn't worked, the first screen shows the options of log in the Kubuntu with install or unseal with safe mode appears and when I choose one of the options it doesn't work at all!!
I tried another CD and gave me the same results.

What do you see when you say "doesn't work"? Black screen, error messages .... ??

the help is for the people who alread installed the kubuntu, and in my case I didn't install it yet, yes I made the CD test for errors and it showed that there is no errors at all....

my video chip type is ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, Memory Size 512 MB & the DAC type Internal DAC (400MHz)

is it from this? denote that I placed the previous version of Kubuntu and it was working great........

Do you have a way to make an "Alternate Install" CD? It is a text-mode installation process, and gives you a little more control. You obviously need to choose "VESA" when it comes to choosing the video display type, then I'm sure you will get a GUI that you can use.

I tried between Ubuntu & Kubuntu, and formated my laptop to install Kubuntu, I faced the same issue. When I tried to install the Ubuntu, I noticed a quick blink text contains the 2 words:BIOS & bug report...
and didn't see the whole thing cuz it was a blink.....
Then, a screen showed the following:

Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version.

I made before 2 things: Update the BIOS - Kubuntu older version was installed before and was working great - and I update the Video card driver..... as per as the manufactore and windows update notified ....

What should I do

ATIX... can get nasty with feisty. :P

the idea is, start in commend line (you need to add an option can remember what though) , install the ati proprietary drivers, then startx.

i'll try finding a howto, i knew there was one...

thanks for your concern, I am really facing a big issue as a starter, by the way, before I update the BIOS and the Vedio Card driver, I was installing the previous Kubuntu and it was working great, but I had to format the laptop and wanted to try the feisty, I was really exited for it......

Try the Envy script installer for your ATI card -- if it works, it will be easier than the other ways:

should I download the envy script on the windows xp? then I follow the steps?? cuz the ubuntu is not working at all!! it only show the first choices of first time I place the CD and Boot the notebook.......
