    Re: Super key?

i don't understand what a "super key" is in this context.

if, by "super key", you mean the administrator's password,
then there is no such thing, by default, on *ubuntu systems.

the user that was created at installation time may gain
admnistrators' privileges by entering its own password,
when asked for, through an application called sudo.

this said, despite no experience with compiz fusion, it seems
weird you need adminstrator's privileges to start it.

no i didnt mean super as root , i will give you an example ,
      - Hold CTRL + ALT keys and with the left mouse button rotate the cube
      - Super + E activates the Expo plugin
      - Hold Super + Shift and with your mouse paint fire on your desktop
      - Super + Shift + C will erase the fire paint
      - Super + Tab activates the Ring Switcher plugin

        Re: Super key?

        oops... sorry...
"super key" is the (yak) "windows key" on my keyboard.
see if it's the same on yours...
otherwise...uhm...it's not the ctrl key, it's not the alt key, it's not the function key, it's the...other key
and shouldn't you have it or find it on your keyboard, i'm sure there'll be a manager for compiz where you can remap all your functions (something like shortcuts, or keyboard shortcuts...)
        cheers.

On my keyboard the windows key doesn't act at the Super key. Too bad.

And I don't seem to have anything in my KDE menus to change the Compiz Fusion settings.

Otherwise, it seems to running OK with cube rotation to the desktops and a few other things.
