    KDE su

I downloaded and installed Kubuntu on dec 2 2005

Trying to start the useradmin in KDE (KUser, or Adept, or Adept updater) I'm asked for a password.

My own user password does not work (I think thats perfect)
I try the su password and get the reply " sorry su, wrong password.

    But,
when I open a shell; do "su" and enter the password (the same as above) I am su

The whole thing with "sudo" does not work somehow.

    Re: KDE su

This might have happened if you did an expert install instead of just a regular install. Is that what you did?

Otherwise, the first user you created should have sudo (i.e., administrative) privileges. That is, you should be able to run
    Code:
    kdesu kuser
, type in your user password and gain root rights.

      Re: KDE su

There's 2 installs the default and the server. So is the server the expert install?

        Re: KDE su

Actually there are 4, default, server, expert and server-expert (or expert-server, can't remember)
