    Installing Flash

Okay I cannot for the life of me, install these programs. Now Flash is giving me issues.

#1: Did apt-get install-flashplayer get taken off the face of the planet??
#2: If I try to install it with the downloaded file from

    http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/...ShockwaveFlash

I get to a part where it says to type  where the plugin directory is. I type it in and I get this:

Please enter the installation path of the Mozilla, Netscape,
    or Opera browser (i.e., /usr/lib/mozilla): /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins/

WARNING: Please enter a valid installation path.

    Well whats a vaild path!?

Ah christ. Problem solved. You have to give it

    /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/

    As a install path.

    But what happen to apt-get?!

    ...skip...
    But what happen to apt-get?!
syntax error. The code should be:
    Code:
    apt-get install libswfdec0.3
    For the Decoder library, and
    Code:
    apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
and accordint to apt, "This package will download flash_linux.tar.gz archive from Macromedia (or mirror). It is useful for mozilla browser variants."

      Before you
      Code:
      sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
, make sure you have extra repositories enabled.

            Re: Installing Flash

hey, Aysiu, how do you know if a package is in the standard repos or the extra (user-enabled) ones? Is there a clue, or have you just memorized which ones are and which ones aren't in the repos?
