    Java Plugin for Firefox

I'm also trying to get JRE (Java runtime environment) to work in firefox and/or konq. I downloaded and installed it/created the link shortcut just as the Java website instructs but neither Firefox nor Konq recognize it is installed, just plum don't work. Any ideas why this is? Thanks.

Well after being told to search all the repositories and not just the default ones I found Java and use Synaptic to install it easy as can be. Thanks all of you for your great advice, saved me again. God I love Linux!
