Firstly I am a newbie, so as much help/feedback as possible would be much appericated.
I was wondering has anybody successfully used Kubuntu as a server to for file sharing capabilities, host an Intranet and provide Internal email?
I am a undergraduate and hoping to demostrate that a Linux platform can be succesfully used in replacement on a windows platform.
I have currently set up Kubuntu (regular installation) with Sama and can share files successfully between linux OS and Windows OS on the network with restrictions. My next task is to set up a domain with profiles which i feel fairly confiedent with. similar creating an intranet.
However my problem lies with setting up Internal email capabilties. at the moment i am clueless at what would be most suitable. i have had suggestions such as Postfix and Qmail.
Any comments?
