    slide show software

I've always looked for good easy to use slide show software as it's the best way to show friends your holiday photos. Recently, I've been very impressed with the slideshows produced on the Mac - specifically the "Ken Burns" effect (pan and zoom). So started a search for same in Linux.

What I found was "MemoriesonTV" which does exactly what I want. Two problems - they want $50 and its Windows. You do your best to get away from Microsoft, then you find something trying to drag you back. Does anyone know of something I haven't found that's available on Linux?
