Howto get Vodaphone K3716 mobile USB stick working

    Edit: Type = K3715

When I insert the stick, a popup appears, asking for my SIM card pin --> I put in my pin code

then a new popup asking my sudo passwd.
It says: system policy prevents unlocking or controlling the mobile broadband device, an application is attempting an action that requires privileges. Authentication is required...

An then, it asks for my pin code again, and again.

A few years back it worked on Kubuntu, but now it does not work anymore.

Does anyone know how to use this thing to go onto the internet ?
I found somewhere that I needed to be in the group dip, but that is the case
    marc@marcHP8470:~$ groups
marc adm cdrom sudo dip video plugdev lpadmin sambashare wireshark docker proximus

My Kubuntu release is 17.04, (upgraded from 16.04)

    In Windows it works.
When I plug it in, Vodaphone mobile light starts and asks for my pin.
Then it asks me if I want to connect to Proximus (I have a sim card from the Belgian telco Proximus)
When I click on connect, I have internet access.

So how do I get it to work on my linux laptop ?
