[SOLVED] snaps don't like symlinks for xdg directories changing

Just got affected by a nasty snap problem; authy refused to run, no error messages at all, just exit code 1.

I found the cause and a fix on the snapcraft forum some snaps will only launch the first time; I'd made a symlink for ~/desktop.
