    Official Xubuntu Forum?

    Hi folks,

does anybody know a decent Xubuntu-forum? I couldn't find many on Google. Now I'm on xubuntu.iphorum.org, but that one takes sooo long to load every page, it takes ages to submit a post or to view other people's posts, for that matter. If nothing else, that would be a compelling reason for me to install KDE on my subnotebook, goodbye lightweight. Too bad.
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards,

Distrowatch does not list an xubuntu forum, but they do list some alternatives:

    http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=xubuntu

You can also use the k/ubuntu forums as well.

      Hi OU812,

yes, I know about the alternatives - well, I know most of them. And of course, I'm aware that Xubuntu is really like Ubuntu dotted green, so I can use those forums as well. Anyway, I still have Gnome installed as an alternative GUI and I'm considering putting on KDE as I'm familiar with that one and there are a couple of good Kubuntu forums around.
      Thanks anyway!

Not Official Xubuntu Forums but you may want to take a look at the new Xubuntu Forums.

Just started today and still in development but usable...the only thing we are working on is modding the theme with Xubuntu logos, respectively.

        http://xubuntuforums.org/

We are also looking for any Xubuntu users or XFCE users to volunteer and help moderate.

Here is the static news message:

Welcome! to Xubuntuforums.org, this is a Xubuntu Users Community Forum. Xubuntuforums.org is in no way affliated or supported by Canonical, Ubuntu, Kubuntuforums.net or Ubuntuforums.org. We strive to bring to the community specific help and support with Xubuntu, XFCE, and Xubuntu derivatives.

Is this forum still a go (http://www.xubuntuforums.org/)? I'd like to join it if it is. I have one Xubuntu machine myself and I just recently installed it on an HP Pavilion laptop with a PIII 256MB system. I'd like to relay that experience for that laptop to help others.

That site 'appears' to be dead.

That's a shame. I know this thread is old, but my experience with that HP Pavilion was a bear and deserves to be mentioned . I think that system was design just for Win98 only the way it acted with every form of Linux I tried on it.

                      Re: Official Xubuntu Forum?

See xubuntu and scroll down just a bit and you find:

                      Online forums
Just as in the traditional sense, forums on the web are discussion areas on a web site where visitors can post questions or make remarks on a given topic to be answered by their peers. The forums are an excellent place to ask for help as well as to find user-written tutorials, how-to's, and old threads that may already answer your question.

You can find the official Xubuntu forums at ubuntuforums.org.

We ran the site for a while. And we helped out some people, but we just did not get enough traffic to justify keeping it up, so the guys over at Cafe Linux decided to close it down. At the end, I was the only regular "Universal Maven" and was fielding all of the posts as best as I could.

I guess Xubuntu isn't used much. It really is great on low end systems. XFCE also is a fairly well design DTM. I'd put it #2 behind #1 KDE.

Yes, I run Xubuntu on my old laptop. I think it is a great Desktop.
