[SOLVED] Use kbuntu insted of Ubuntu

I have been using Ubuntu 14.10 on my HP laptop. I installed Kubuntu thru the terminal of Ubuntu. Everything says it is installed but I am unable to bring up Kbuntu, it only comes up with Ubuntu when i sign on. I am also running a duel boot for windows 7 and have been for some time. How do I get kbuntu to come up when I sign on.

Change your session. Icon on the login screen. Otherwise, it will keep going to the last session used, which in your case is ubuntu.
Another thing, did you install using sudo apt-get isntall kubuntu-desktop or ??

Thank you for your reply. I now have the program running. Somewhere I missed a step and I did not change sessions. I installed using the sudo apt-get install kubuntu. I am now tring to get the program set up to use.
