    E17(Enlightenment-DR17) repo

I run the website http://seerofsouls.com which for years has been the largest 3rd party repo for Mandriva. Now, I'm proud to announce that I'm expanding and building deb packages.

The first repo is now up and running and everyone is welcome to give it a try. The repo is for the E17 (Enlightenment-DR17) window manager.

E17 is a window manager that many users have requested there be debs for over the past year or so. So here they are. SoS will be building weekly builds if not more than just once a week. These debs are built directly from a daily/nightly CVS checkout so that the latest and greatest stuff is always built into the packages. We encourage you to try these packages and let us know what you think about them, or even if you have any problems.

All you have to do is visit http://seerofsouls.com and click on the 'Deb Packages' tab at the top of the page. It explains how to add the repo and what command you should do to install the majority of E17. I have a contact form on the site as well if you have any issues or comments.

I hope to see much feedback from everyone about this new E17 repo.

    Code:
    deb [url]http://SeerOfSouls.com/[/url] dapper e17
Then to install the basics, perform this command:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install enlightenment emodules0-all

Enjoy and can't wait for everyones responses to these great packages!

Perfect! Maybe you should talk to the guy responsible for Ebuntu about this! https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Ebuntu

      Hi,

I was really pleased to see this but I can't install it as there's no 64bits version... Can you make one please ?
I have already xfce working one other 32bits boxes but I wanted to give a try to yours...

      Cheers

        Re: E17(Enlightenment-DR17) repo

As of right now I don't have access to a 64Bit machine or I'd love to build them for the 64Bit OS. I'll see what I can do as far as coming up with access to such a machine.

          Hi,

I've just tried it on a 32 bit box and it's really nice and well polished...
Just a silly question I guess (I'm not so used to xfce) How can I access kind of K menu with all applications available ? I've found a menu with few things like preferred applications but not one with every thing.

thanks, and again really nice theme

You'll want to use e17genmenu which is part of e_utils. We hope to have e_utils available in the next couple of days as it's been giving us issues trying to build it. Then that will allow you to have all the apps under the 'Favorite Applications' section when you left click on the background.

New build uploaded just now. This includes e_utils which has e17genmenu and entangle for those of you who wish to edit/populate your menus.

For those that may be interested, we now have an E17 repo for Edgy as well as Dapper now. You can find the info here as usual: http://seerofsouls.com/ubuntu.html

Still no 64-bit love? Dang, dang, dang.

I've compiled it from source on when I used Slackware, getting lazy in my old age I guess.

Chalk me up for another wanting 64-bit packages.

What's the chances of getting this onto Feisty...It would be great if it was available for the April release....I've used Elive so have already had the benefit of E17 with Debian...but I will admit it's alot more benefit to be able to add it to Ubuntu/Kubuntu which is already setup and I feel alot more powerful..

                      Cheers in advance
