[SOLVED] How do I get back the Kate scrollbar

I almost titles this post "Kate minimap sucks" because that's the way I feel. It condenses the whold file into a tiny minimap, making it like measuring a grain of salt with a yardstick.

How do I get the scrollbar back? Or, equivalently, make the minimap MUCH bigger?

Have you tried:
Settings > Configure Kate > Appearance > Borders > Show text preview on scrollbar / Show scrollbar mini-map

I must apologize. I had entirely misinterpreted the problem. With the minimap, scrolling was practically impossile, as any minute movemnt of the map jumped over a couple of pages of the file.

In fact, it's because the file contained only a few lines. I don't know how to fix that in Kate, so I was obliged to copy the file to LibreOffice, which did the appropriate linends.
