[SOLVED] Right clicking Kickoff menu crashes plasmashell

Along with what the title says, it also crashes when I try to switch application launchers. I did a backup of my entire home directory and upgraded from Kubuntu 15.10 to 16.04 and this is when all the loveliness happened. I ended the plasmashell process and launched it from a terminal to see what I got when I did so. What I'm seeing right away is this:

KActivities: Database can not be opened in WAL mode. Check the SQLite version (required >3.7.0). And whether your filesystem supports shared memory

    Thoughts?

Sooo...I have this tendency to solve things after I post questions on forums and I want to say that I solved my issue
      I had to remove ~/.local/share/kactivitymanagerd/*
Removing that and restarting recreated a database that was compatible with the install. So if anyone encounters this issue, here you go!

      [edit]
vinnywright, I did a clean install after backing up my whole home directory with deja-dup
