[PLASMA 5] Screen showing only coloured bars after update to plasma 5 on 14.10

Hi,
I wanted to try the new plasma 5 kde desktop. I had problems with the iso that already had plasma5 activated, so I performed a completely fresh format and install of Utopic with plasma 4, which worked great. I then updated by:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/next
sudo apt update
sudo apt install kubuntu-plasma5-desktop
sudo apt full-upgrade
sudo reboot

After the reboot, grub shows normally. When I start Kubuntu, though, I do not see anything - just coloured bars across the screen. Something tells me that the display driver and plasma5 do not talk well together. My machine is a 64-bit amd Lenovo X120e.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Ending up deciding it was not worth the trouble. Probably my integrated Radeon 6310 HD graphics chip was not supported. Have now done a fresh reinstall with KDE 4 and sticking with that.
