[SOLVED] Desktop "Align to Grid"

Howdy,
very impressed with Kubuntu 14, very fast and installing to EFI(Win8 dual-boot) was perfect.
Thanks to all involved with the project!

Linux with KDE has been my preferred desktop for over a decade. So installing Kubuntu was a natural move.
However, when I went to adjust my desktop icons it appears the "Align to Grid" or "By Name" etc. is no longer available?
Did I make a nub mistake(not seeing a setting somewhere) or was there a change in KDE?

Sounds like you are expecting the Folder layout instead of the default "Default Desktop" layout.

Right click a blank area of your desktop and go into Default Desktop Settings.

that was it. Must be the choice of default on other distros, never remembered having to change it...lol.
