why not have "properties" file path as a view option?

I know..............there are hundreds of question threads about Dolphin file path on the net this is not a question but a suggestion.

However, as background, one might take a look at this very long back and forth about the file path from back in 2012 entitled "Where is the file I found?"

    http://www.kubuntuforums.net/archive...p/t-56887.html

ok........... I had to find a file tonight and did the find thing in Dolphin and used a generic term: "phy sci". I got a bunch of returns and they were grouped by.............

the FIRST LETTER OF THE FIRST FILE IN A FOLDER?

    :0

There is no option to click which will display the.........."file path" for all of the items.

Meaning each item going down the page, has a pathname from where the search was started to the file....going across the page...

What one has to do............and this is NOT APPARENT TO THE UNINITIATED....

is to right click the item go all the way down to "properties" click that and then one sees the file path for THAT particular file...

    Ok..........it works.............

    But...............

    a) since each and every file does indeed have "a file path"...........
    b) each file can have the file path displayed by the above machination
    c)......

why not just have an option to display all the file paths as a default?

just a question, of little worth.

Install recoll and you'll be one happy "search-and-find-anything-on-my-pc" camper.

Settings - what you set is what you get

Dolphin > View > Additional Information > Other > Path

or right click the column header

You could reorder the columns by grab&move...

Rog continues to be, in this members opinion, an absolute gem among KFN members. His knowledge is simply impressive!
