    [SOLVED] Right click does not work with synaptics touchpad

    I am uncertain how to dump the current xorg auto config, but this is all of the information that I could think of, btw a plugged in mouse works just fine.
    And amazingly if I am in the setting mouse applet, it detects the right click, but not on the desktop, so no context menus with the touchpad. I am running the latest and greatest , 12.10. My laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio 875 core i7. Below are the outputs of uname -a , lspci and /proc/cpuinfo if you need further info I would be glad to post it. Please help as it is very annoying to say the least.

    Did this work in 12.04 or whatever you had before?

    And are you talking about the hardware button below the touchpad, or a special tap?

    Do you have package xserver-xorg-input-synaptics installed?
    I'd rather be locked out than locked in.

      It is a new laptop, but yes Fedora 17 worked on it, but I did not like the interface so I came back to kubuntu. Nothing special, just the right mouse click refuses to work by itself. Everything is a left click, except in the mouse applet to let left handed people change the mouse keys, then it appears to be working. I am thinking I need some entry into xorg.conf.d , but I do not know what it should be. The X synaptics package is installed.

              Well being new hardware, it looks like I am out of luck until the new maintainer of the driver gets fully immersed into fixing the code itself. Thanks for the link and the time spent on the issue.
