I haven't had any problems with it. I've run Daisy through Raring but nothing after that, so Saucy and Trusty would be untested by me. I can't see a reason why it wouldn't work, however. Note that it is also included in the Plasma Panels collection, but there is no native Kubuntu package for that, either.

I use Homerun Kicker now. I've enjoyed it so far. Fits me better than Lancelot or the Default.

Is it stable these days? I recall trying it out a long time ago and had crash problems that I didn't bother researching fully. I've toyed with various other docks, but always end up back at the basics.
I think the daisy circular dock would be awesome in a touch screen application.

Daisy is still by far my favorite launcher. There is no .deb for it ATM except for Saucy, but it is easily compiled. Thought to be abandoned, fortunately it's still alive and kicking. I really should learn to package - It's truly a shame this is not available for KDE by default, or at least via the Plasma-Addons package...

So I still don't understand how I ended up with the full screen launcher, kind of like the one below for HomeRun when other people are showing a small launcher. ?

Homerun Kicker
Under development: a non-fullscreen version of the Homerun launcher - https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ku...er/007344.html
...My focus right now is on finishing the new
'regular-sized menu' frontend based on the same framework that Net-
runner aims to ship as default menu in the next release, and that
I'm considering proposing as a Kickoff replacement for PW2 even-
tually, provided we can eliminate the redundancy between Plasma
runners and Homerun source plugins (since I don't think it has a
shot of being accepted upstream otherwise)...

Not exactly...
Not exactly a launcher but can be used as such: Milou
http://www.mail-archive.com/plasma-d.../msg25683.html :
Developer blog: http://vhanda.in/blog/Introducing Milou

Hey everyone
I've been working on a dedicated search client for Nepomuk. It was originally
called finder. We have now settled on the name "Milou". It is currently in
the playground - kde:milou
Here is a simple screenshot: http://vhanda.in/milou.png
Advantages -
1. Groups results based on the type
2. Allows the user to enable/disable groups and give them different priorities
3. Has much better Nepomuk support than KRunner or Dolphin
It currently supports searching through Applications, System Settings, Audio,
Videos, Images, Documents, Folders, Emails, Bookmarks and a handy
calculator (which doesn't exactly fit the concept of search)
Initially, I was planning on this just being a wrapper over Nepomuk. However,
as I began to use it more and more, it became annoying to have 2 places to
type things in - krunner and Milou...

Quick launchers & what ever
KRunner
From the KDE UserBase: http://userbase.kde.org/Plasma/Krunner

Quicklauncher
The quicklauncher plasma widget is part of the KDE

Shelf
The Shelf is a bit more than an application launcher.

Mangonel
The Mangonel is a remake of the old Katapult (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katapult)
Earlier: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/?content=136681
The Mangonel is now in the KDE-Review: http://lists.kde.org/?t=135767580000001&r=1&w=2
README.md
# Mangonel, a simple application launcher for KDE4.
Mangonel is intended as a light weight replacement for the, in my view bloated and slow, standard KRunner. Sadly you can't actually get rid of KRunner because it's also responsible for your screensaver and power-management.
> ### Mangonel currently lets you do these things.
>
> * Start applications in the KDE menu.
> * Opening files and directories with their default application.
> * Execute shell commands, including arguments.
> * Use it as a calculator.
The default global shortcut to show Mangonel is `CTR+ALT+Space`, you can change this in the KDE4 system settings...

Favorites launcher
- http://kde-look.org/content/show.php...content=117639
Description:
This is a "containment action" (mouse action) plugin for the KDE Plasma Desktop (KDE SC 4.4 or newer).
With this plugin, you can configure a mouse button click to invoke a menu with your favorite applications.
Instead of listing all applications, it only lists the Kickoff favorite applications. The code is written by Chani Armitage, I only modified it slightly to parse the favorites.
