Is it possible to extend the right-click/desktop Application Launcher Menu or preferably use the panel's 'alternate menu' with its extended option set?

I feel like I would like to help, but I can't make out what you're talking about! Do you mean the K application menu? ... but I don't get that on right-click or desktop click in KDE (Xfce, Openbox, etc: yes). And what alternate menu? What extended option?
I might need some screenshots ...I'd rather be locked out than locked in. -

The Application Menu is limited to Categories only when used as you've show above.
