I never had hooked it up, had the monitor for 8 years now and decided to hook it up tonight.
Viewsonic VX2255 22 inch monitor, has the camera at the top, there is a usb hookup on the back left of the video input plug that uses any standard type A male to type B male cable.
It works automagically with Kopete and Cheese. However, Pidgen and Empathy don't support web cams yet.
There is a blue led on the right side of the camera that automatically activates when the camera is working.
So, given that this one is so old, I would imagine that any Viewsonic monitor camera should work automagically.
