    KDM won't autostart

The other day I tried upgrading to the new KDM for KDE 4, and it wouldn't launch and I decided that I didn't care and just went back to KDM. Now, however, when I turn on my computer all I get is a text login where I have to log in as root and then run KDM manually. My question therefor is, is there some script or something that I can add KDM to to make it launch at boot like it used to?

I had the same problem; essentially, you have 2 choices:
    1) Reinstall kdm-kde4 (which may or may not fix the problem).
    2) Modify '/etc/X11/default-display-manager' to look like the following:
    /usr/bin/kdm
