    KDE 3.x Oxygen theme?

Ok let me start off by saying I am a KDE fanboy to the core, however KDE4 in its current state is unusable (to me) for anything other then a technology preview, however I really like the new oxygen theme and wanted to know if there is a port of this to 3.x KDE until KDE4 has matured a bit more?

Yes I looked there before posting, did a search for oxygen and didnt find any KDE4 like theme.

I was hoping that by now we would have a KDE3 backport of the oxygen theme.

        Re: KDE 3.x Oxygen theme?

While looking through there I saw a note to one of the icon themes available. The icon theme creator said that reposting the Oxygen Theme was "against their wishes" (their being the Oxygen creators??). I don't know how true that is though. I really haven't seen any site that the Oxygen creators have to be able to say.

          There is this:

          my oxygen theme
          http://www.kde-look.org/content/show...?content=68548
          Description:
This theme is based on KDE4 Oxygen style with some mine modifications.
          Package include:
          -domino configuration
          -theme-manager-theme
          -emerald theme
          -wallpaper
          Installing:
          Alt + F2 : kcontrol > Appearance & Themes > Theme Manager...

          Tip:
Save your current theme first: Create New Theme

          Note:
Installation puts theme in the ~/.kde/share/apps/kthememanager/themes/oxygen-theme/oxygen-theme/
          it should be in ~/.kde/share/apps/kthememanager/themes/
          => grab everything:
          oxygen, oxygen_1, oxygen.emerald, oxygen.kcsrc, oxygen.kth, oxygen-theme
and move them in the ~/.kde/share/apps/kthememanager/themes/

About Oxygen icons in the KDE 3

          If you have KDE 4:
          Go to /usr/lib/kde4/share/icons/
copy oxygen folder to the home folder
right click oxygen folder -> Actions: Compress here -> oxygen.tar.gz

K > System Settings -> Appearance ->Icons -> Install New Theme, drop oxygen.tar.gz in the line, OK
Choose Oxygen, Apply (your oxygen icon theme is in the ~/.kde/share/icons/)

          If you don't have KDE4:
          Install kde-icons-oxygen from repositories.
          Go to /usr/lib/kde4/share/icons/...

          KDE 4 vs KDE 3
          There are small differences:
          actions about-kde vs about_kde
          actions application-exit vs exit
          actions arrow-down vs 1downarrow
          actions arrow-down-double vs 2downarrow
          actions arrow-left vs 1leftarrow
          actions arrow-left-double vs 2leftarrow
          actions arrow-right vs 1rightarrow
          ...

          Fixing icon names:

Go to the Fixed Oxygen Icon Theme Script
          http://www.kde-look.org/content/show...?content=61556

          or

          http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kd...ns-oxygen-svn/

          and get

          ICONSLIST (text file)
          rename-icons.py

Run python script in the home folder, it will fix (some of them) icon names.

Kickoff in the Kubuntu KDE 3

Install Kickoff KDE Menu in Kubuntu/Ubuntu

Thank you! I wonder why this didnt show up on my kde-look search?

If you dont want your project to be used in other projects do not release it under a license that allows such usage.

I like the Icon Theme. Using it now! Downloaded the Domino Theme as well. I'll look at that when I get time. Thanks!

                    Re: KDE 3.x Oxygen theme?

I wasn't thrilled with Domino, but those icons are great. Thanks! I've been looking for a good icon set but never found one that I liked.
