Yes. All that does is bring you to Hangouts. google-talkplugin is another issue. I've since found out its related to pepper "ppapi" that replaced "npapi"(Netscape).Originally posted by NickStone View PostDid you install this extension? https://addons.opera.com/en-gb/exten...ls/?display=en

Guest repliedDid you install this extension? https://addons.opera.com/en-gb/exten...ls/?display=enOriginally posted by verndog View PostWow. Opera is back. I used it years ago and loved it. Tried it a year ago and was not impressed. I just downloaded the the new Opera deb file. Installed it on my Xubuntu and it works great.
Thanks for the tip.
edit: There is one major flaw. Google-talkplugin doesn't work. It keeps saying to install google-talk, which is already installed. I use it all the time on Firefox.
It works using Firefox, but not Opera. One wold think " NPAPI deprecation" would also apply to Firefox.

About youtube-dl
The youtube-dl is sometimes needed to view the youtube clips. Missing or too old youtube-dl will show as a 'Cannot open' error.

The Ubuntu repositories have the package youtube-dl: http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?ke...ll§ion=all
The latest version is easy to install and update from the source: http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/ -> http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/download.html
:~$ sudo youtube-dl --update
[sudo] password for rog132:
Updating to version 2014.11.09 ...

Using it as my alt, since my rekonq started crashing.
Not very fond of all the chrome variants but ... this one is decent.

Im so happy that Opera is coming back to Linux. It was my browser of choice for many years until they stopped Linux support. Waiting for it to come out of beta though...
