I'm having the weirdest problem with Kubuntu 25.04 on my desktop (Core i7 10th Gen) that I didn't have on 24.10. It may be caused by KDE, or just the way Kubuntu and Intel won't play well... but I cannot put this PC in standby. I tell it to sleep; it wakes up immediately. So I got into the habit of leaving it on and just turning off my monitor. Easy, right?
Except when I turn the monitor back on, both Brave and Firefox browsers have closed and Thunderbird is a little postage stamp on the desktop... super minimized! Every single time!
I have changed setting after setting, trying to resolve this. I don't know if it's in the main code; or KDE Plasma; or what... but I'm desperately looking for a solution here. I had actually written off Kubuntu and switched to Linux Mint, until I realized that it was even buggier on this machine than Kubuntu! Since this was a Windoze computer prior to Win10's imminent EOL, I have enough RAM in this machine for several Linux computers, so it's not a memory problem.
Surely I'm not the only Kubuntu user with this issue, so I'm open to learning how I can fix this without literally shutting down the computer every time I have to go somewhere for awhile. Thanks for your time and assistance!
