[System] Thunderbird has lost its profile after upgrade to 25.04

I recently upgraded to 25.04 from the previous version. After the upgrade, the icons for Thunderbird and Firefox were both blank. When I ran thunderbird from the menu, it had lost my email accounts.
I've tried using trouble-shooting mode when run from the taskbar and none of the profiles have these accounts stored.

If I run "snap run thunderbird" from the command-line, they're all there.
If I rerun from the command-line and pin to the taskbar, then after closing and then running from the taskbar the accounts are gone again.
    Re-running from the command-line, they're back.

How can I run with the correct profile from the taskbar?

Thunderbird in recent *buntu releases is now a Snap package. Issues like you are experiencing are not uncommon with running Thunderbird as a Snap package when previously it was a true .deb package installation.
