    [RESOLVED] HP_Officejet_8010 Print Problems

For sometime now my HP Office-jet 8010 printer fails to print multiple pages. I get a device communication error report. It successfully prints multiple pages on my Noble Kubuntu 24.04 LTS system, so it is not a fault with the printer.

I would be interested to know if other Plucky Puffin users with a HP printer have this problem.

I have not a HP Printer. Have you installed these packages?

    Code:
sudo apt install hplip hplip-data hplip-gui
    Kubuntu 24.04 'Noble Numbat'

Yes, I have all those packages installed with the exception hplip-gui. It is not listed in my package Synaptic. I have just found that by typing in the name instead of using copy and paste that hplip-gui is installed on my system

The ‘hplip-gui’ package places an ‘hp’ icon in the tray bar, to configure printers.

I already have the HP icon in my system tray and I used it to configure my printer. I have configured both a Wireless and a USB connection between my laptop and the HP Officejet 8010 printer.

Sorry that I have been hesitant at letting you know that I am now very pleased to have my printer working as it should. I am not sure when the change occurred as I only print every now and then and lately it has not failed.

Glad it working again. If it's connected wirelessly you may want to make sure it's set to a manual IP address outside the normal range for DHCP say in the 200 range.
