Upgrade available icon returns an empty Upgrade failed box

As the title says so I now have the Upgrade available Ubuntu 24.10 This version will stop receiving updates and security fixes for 920 days. I cannot get rid of it and it returns an empty window with the explanation: Upgrade failed with the following output: no output shown. How do I get rid of the upgrade icon,? I have already upgraded to 24.10 and there is nothing being held back that I can see. Help. (First time poster and apologize if I am rambling)

    Welcome to KFN.

Try using Konsole and seeing if there any held back packages. sudo apt update

    then

    sudo apt full-upgrade

I have tried that and nothing is being held back but the upgrade shortcut remains and returns the aforementioned empty error output box. I tried full-upgrade, dist-upgrade, just the normal update&&upgrade&&autoremove that I use daily. I am wondering, since my backups fail since the upgrade, if I just open and restore from existing backups from before - it appears I only have one but it is from September - will that "cancel" the upgrade that was done so I can try using the upgrade shortcut to upgrade before doing it manually as I normally do? any help is appreciated. Thanks.
