    [RESOLVED] missing/broken gtk modules?

installed floorp browser from flatpak but it doesn't open. tried to run it with $ flatpak run one.ablaze.floorp and got Failed to load module "colorreload-gtk-module" and Failed to load module "window-decorations-gtk-module".
tried (re)installing kde-config-gtk-style with $ sudo apt install kde-config-gtk-style, told me it was already the newest version (4:5.27.12-0ubuntu0.1)

on kubuntu 24.04.4 lts and kde plasma 5.27.12

the desktop file that is created when i install the floorp flatpak from discover shows the program as /usr/bin/flatpak and the command line arguments as run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=floorp --file-forwarding one.ablaze.floorp @@u %u @@

    when i run this in a terminal /usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=floorp --file-forwarding one.ablaze.floorp @@u %u @@

i get the the following in the output but the web browser launches just fine

    Code:
[2] Sandbox: CanCreateUserNamespace() clone() failure: EPERM
    Gtk-Message: 12:24:10.823: Failed to load module "xapp-gtk3-module" ?
    Gtk-Message: 12:24:10.861: Failed to load module "window-decorations-gtk-module"??
    Gtk-Message: 12:24:10.861: Failed to load module "colorreload-gtk-module"

uninstalled and reinstalled from discover just to be sure. i got a similar output but the browser still doesn't launch for me.
      Code:
[2] Sandbox: CanCreateUserNameSpace () clone () failure: EPERM
      Gtk-Message: 19:46:27.783: Failed to load module "colorreload-gtk-module"
      Gtk-Message: 19:46:27.783: Failed to load module "window-decorations-gtk-module"

        try it from discover again

only this time when you uninstall also check the item to uninstall the user files in case those got corrupted somehow

and before you reinstall, also delete your ~/.cache folder and reboot.

        then try reinstalling from discover.

it should work then, if not they try installing it onto a new user acct and see if that works.

i would not worry about the warning messages you get when running it from a console as those can generally be ignored unless the appl won't launch.

but the errors you are getting are the same as mine and mine launches, so i would not consider them interested at all... something else is going on.

or you could just install it from the official Linux build, flatpaks tends to mess up browsers

something else must going on then because neither a complete reinstall after reboot nor installing on a new user account worked for me. installing the tarball did though, so i guess it's flatpak related like die.boer said. (though i also have vivaldi from flatpak and that works fine? ah whatever.)
thanks guys, i'll mark as resolved
