Installing a Windows program using Wine, with administrator priviledges?

I've got an install.exe file. I tried running it with Q4Wine, which seemed to be working, up to the point that it gave the error -
    Code:
unable to register the dll/ocx:regsvr32 fialed with exit code 0x3
. Brave's AI says that the most common cause for this is insufficient user priviledges, although it could also be a dependency issue or conflict with an antivirus software. I'm assuming it's not the latter, since I don't have anything that 24.04 doesn't install on its own. AFAIK, the most likely cause is the priviledge issue (although I really don't know anything). I ran Q4Wine by right clicking on install.exe>open with>Q4Wine. I don't know how to open Q4Wine on its own. I tried starting it from the command line, but "Q4Wine" isn't the right command to launch it.

No, it probably is either how Q4wine is emulating Windows environments, the Wine version being used, the specific quirks this unknown, unnamed EXE needs, or the program simply will not work with Winwe. I have have never used Q4wine myself.

Brave's AI is stupid still. The error has nothing to do with permissions, as wine doesn't run (and should not be run) with elevated privileges to begin with.

So.....the $20 question here is: what are you trying to install?

LogixPro aka Professor Bill's Ladder Lab. Sorry it wasn't anything spicy.

It shows up in the Wine menu, but does not run.

I've been told that bottles is the programme of choice for windows stuff. It is essentially a wine wrapper with auto configs making the whole thing a LOT easier.
