System monitoring apps sometimes do not work

Hello! I have been using Kubuntu for some time and it is excellent.

However, I have occasionally run into a strange issue. This also occurred on Linux Mint, as I previously used that OS as well. Sometimes, I will try to open the plasma System Monitor, and it will load infinitely. The application is unresponsive and must be terminated to close the window. Mission Center also fails with the message "Failed to connect to Gatherer socket". I also attempted to run the command "systemctl status" but the command times out.

Besides these, the system behaves normally and there are no other issues. I can restart the computer to make the issue go away, but I would like to stop it from happening to begin with. Does anyone know why this might happen? Here is a video of the issue: https://zip.macver.org/u/97C2Oo.mp4

    Thank you!

What is this, and from where?

What errors or messaging show if you try to start the system monitor from the terminal?

    Code:
    plasma-systemmonitor
Might shed some light if it shows anything.

Mission Center is the app on the left. Here is the project page URL: https://missioncenter.io/

I have since the previous incident restarted the computer (because of a separate lock screen issue) and I'm not sure how to recreate the issue so unfortunately I will have to wait until I catch it again to report more.
Is there anything else I should take note of when it occurs again?

I have no idea, to be honest. Opening the system monitor from the terminal is the best way to see why it isn't opening, so keep opening it this way until you experience the problem again . As to why the systemctl output doesn't show, I have no idea, though it isn't really helpful for seeing why the monitor isn't opening.

For Mission Center, what type of package system was it installed with?
You may need to go to them and look for bug reports or similar things, as well as sunning it from the terminal for more complete messages.
