KDE Connect sensitive notifications hidden only in Kubuntu

    Hi,

This has been happening for a while, I'm not sure exactly when it began.

In Kubuntu 24.04, I used to be able to see the content of sensitive KDE Connect notifications from my Android 16 phone, but now it is hidden. However, I can see it in Windows 11, which makes me think that there's an issue with my config on Kubuntu rather than Android, and I'd welcome any ideas on how to set it up to see the sensitive content again.

    System details:

    Operating System: Kubuntu 24.04
    KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.12
    KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
    Qt Version: 5.15.13
    Kernel Version: 6.14.0-33-generic (64-bit)
    Graphics Platform: X11

    KDE Connect version: 23.08.5-0ubuntu5

    Thanks for any help!

    Jim

it's not an issue, the windows version just likely hasn't caught up yet.

the change was made to protect your privacy... there may be a setting you can undo, i'm not sure

but you basically don't want sensitive data being broadcast to your other devices by default

Thanks for the reply. I haven't been able to find a setting to undo, I'll have another look.

It would seem like an odd way to go about it; if it's a security/privacy issue I'd expect the filter to be in the Android app, not the desktop client. Either way, it would be nice to be able to decide for myself how to handle my sensitive data.

It is not on the PC side, it is an Android restriction, since version 15.

You can change permissions on the phone with ADB, though.
